Abstract

|
Flat condyloma of the uterine cervix is one type of papilloma virus. It is characterized by gross feature of non-papillomatous flat lesion and cytologic findings of koilocytes with perinuclear halo. Both flat condyloma and CIN share the abore two features and cexist not inferquently The only confirmative method of diagnosis is the biopsy. Therefore close follow up with repeat smear or biopsy is essential if flat condyloma is suspected in the cytologic smear.
Four cases of flat condyloma including one case associated with epidermoid carcinoma in situ are presented with review of the literature.
